Pork and Lentil Curry

Ingredients

  • 500g Lean pork, cut in cubes
  • 1 cup  Red Lentils
  • 2 medium Onions, sliced fine
  • Oil as required
  • 1½tablespoon Goan Cuisine TANDOORI PASTE
  • Tamarind pulp or Vinegar to taste
  • 2 cups Hot water
  • Salt to taste

Optional:

  • Garnish
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped.

Directions

Wash lentils until water runs clear. Drain and keep aside.

Sauté sliced onion.
Add pork cubes and mix well. Then add TANDOORI PASTE, mix well and fry on low heat until oil comes up.
Add about 2 cups hot water, and cook covered on low to medium heat, until pork is tender.
Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Then add dhal and sufficient hot water to cover the mixture, and cook covered on low heat until dhal is soft.
Add tamarind juice or vinegar, as required, and salt to taste.

Serve with steamed rice or chapattis, and Goan Cuisine Carrot Mescut or Lime Pickle.
